Miss New Zealand Laural Barrett is in Mexico preparing to compete against 80 other girls for the Miss Universe crown.
The competition will be held in Mexico City on May 28.
Barrett has spent the past few days in Cancun, posing for photos and practising for the pageant's swimwear section alongside competitors from around the world.
She grew up in Christchurch with her twin sister Sharaine.
