"Entourage" season finishes on consistent note

The boys of HBO's "Entourage" might have ended the show's fourth season halfway around the world, but in terms of viewers, the comedy series finished the season exactly where it began. Sunday night's finale -- which found movie star Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) and his crew at the Cannes Film Festival -- averaged 2.2 million total viewers. That figure was exactly on par with the comedy series' fourth-season bow June 17, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. The 10 p.m. closer was off, however, from the 3.4 million viewers that the third-season finale drew June 3, though that telecast had the penultimate episode of "The Sopranos" as its lead-in. Sunday night's episode of "Entourage" followed the theatrical "Superman Returns," while the Season 4 opener led out of the now-canceled drama "John From Cincinnati." Meanwhile, HBO's "Flight of the Conchords" had its first-season finale following "Entourage" at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, averaging 950,000 total viewers. The show, starring the New Zealand music-comedy duo of Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, debuted June 17 to 1.2 million viewers.
