Steven Spielberg to be honored at Golden Globes
2007-11-15
Steven Spielberg is to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for his "outstanding contribution to entertainment" at next year's Golden Globes, organizers said Wednesday. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association said the legendary director would be honored at the awards show on January 13 in recognition of a career that has seen him make some of the highest-grossing films of all time. It is the latest honor in a long list for Spielberg, 60, who has already received six Golden Globes for films including "Schindler's List," "Saving Private Ryan," "E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial," as well as three Oscars. Previous winners of the award include Warren Beatty, Anthony Hopkins, Al Pacino and Michael Douglas.
