British band Radiohead are releasing a video which aims to raise awareness of human trafficking, lead singer Thom Yorke said Wednesday.

The video for "All I Need" uses a split screen to show a day in the life of two different children -- one from an affluent background and another who is forced to work in a sweat shop.

It will be screened from Thursday by music channel MTV, which says it could reach 560 million households worldwide.

"The video is a powerful piece and I hope that the emotion of the song will jump out at people in the context of these images of exploitation," Yorke said.

"I'm proud that the song and the video will help to raise awareness of this issue around the world."

The video was created as part of the MTV Exit campaign, which aims to raise awareness of human trafficking.

The United Nations estimates that there are around 2.5 million people in the world who have been trafficked, mostly in Asia and the Pacific.

"All I Need" comes from the Grammy Award-winning band's latest chart-topping album, "In Rainbows".

When it was released online last October, fans were invited to set their own price for the album. Three in five fans paid nothing at all, according to one survey.
