Transplant recipient completes Yosemite ascent

Missing Denali hiker calls mom; Crews searching
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - One of two backpackers missing nearly a week in Denali National Park and Preserve called her mother and said they were safe Wednesday, but helicopters sent out after authorities tracked the signal did not immediately find them. The park dispatched two helicopters to pick up Erica Nelson and Abby Flantz, but three hours later they had not been located.

Hiker dies on Mount Rainier, 2 wait for rescue
A hiker died on Mount Rainier and two others were awaiting rescue Tuesday at Camp Muir, high on the volcano's flank, officials at the national park said. Ranger Sandi Kinzer the three went on a day hike Monday and got caught in a blizzard on the Muir snowfield.

French 'Spider Man' charged in latest New York stunt
Alain Robert, best known as the "French Spider Man" for climbing buildings and monuments around the world, was charged in a Manhattan court Friday and released on parole for scaling the New York Times skyscraper, court officials said.
