US, China open high-level trade talks

Minn. pigs may have tested positive for swine flu
MINNEAPOLIS - Preliminary tests show three pigs in Minnesota may have contracted the swine flu virus making them the first potential U.S. cases in swine, agricultural officials said Friday. They stressed the finding does not threaten food safety.

FDA: Plant knowingly sold salmonella-laced food
WASHINGTON - As far back as 2007, salmonella-laced products were shipped by a Georgia peanut company that knew the peanuts probably were tainted and sometimes after tests confirmed that contamination, inspection records show.
