PRAGUE (AFP) - The New York Rangers beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in a National Hockey League match Sunday, collecting four points from the two season-opening games played in Prague.

The game was livelier than Saturday's lukewarm opener, won by the same scoreline, with the Rangers dominating the first two periods.

But it was Lightning winger Adam Hall who scored the first goal 18 minutes into the game, comfortably tucking in the puck after Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist blocked a long-range shot from Chris Gratton.

Rangers defenseman Wade Redden scored a power-play equalizer from close range four minutes into the second period after a smart pass from Markus Naslund.

Scott Gomez then rebounded a Redden shot for the game-winner at 32:12.

The Lightning tried harder in the final period but created few scoring chances. The Rangers outshot them 39-19 in the game.

Both teams will now return to North America, just like the Ottawa Senators and the Pittsburgh Penguins, who are playing their first two games of the season in Stockholm.
